I'm back in Concord again, and it's good to be back. Of course, anything would be good after sitting in the car for so long. I encountered a traffic jam that was about 10 or 15 miles long, and it was pretty frustrating to sit in one spot so long while wanting to return home as quickly as possible. Tab is glad to see me again, and apparently glad to be back in Concord. Maybe she's just glad she isn't trapped in the car anymore. I need to go to Wal-Mart and get some pet food for her, so...bye.
Now that I'm up, I need to get ready to head for Greenville, NC. Prior to this, though, I need to wash some dishes, clean my car somewhat, and bring as many clothes along as I can wash over the course of two days. Alert readers will remember that I am still without a dryer, though this situation will be remedied when Brandon returns from Thanksgiving with his family, as his parents have a dryer they want him to have.
After finishing all this, which should take 90 minutes or so, I'll be leaving. The plan is to arrive in Greenville midafternoon. Peace out, homies.
The following quote from a review of a Left Behind video game sums up how I felt about the last book in the Left Behind series...
This story line isn't merely of armageddon, but Armageddon. Thus, the last Left Behind book -- Glorious Appearing -- concludes with the ultimate triumph of Jesus in a phantasmagorically gruesome holocaust. As predicted in Revelation, the savior returns to Earth, chides Satan for defiling the planet (and for inventing Darwinism), then proceeds to slaughter all unbelievers, dissolving their tongues and bursting their bodies like overstuffed sausages. As millions die in transports of agony, the ground becomes a swamp of blood and mud, and some extremely unpleasant things happen to the Jews who refuse to convert. As for the born-again? They stand around watching and cheering.
Something has come up that may precipitate postponing my tentative plans to leave Concord in a few months. I'm not quite ready to discuss what that "something" is, because I'm still trying to make up my mind.
In other news, I miss my cat immensely. Here's a picture:
I do believe I'm going to bring her back with me when I go home to visit next week. Jared moved out a few weeks ago, and Brandon has been in California. It's been quite lonely here at the trailer by myself.
I've decided that I'm going to move away from Concord. It will most likely be several months before anything happens, but it's what I've decided to do. There's not anyone or anything that I'm running away from...I just want a change of scenery. No idea where I'll be going, so if you're reading this and want to offer me a lot of money to move somewhere, feel free to write in.
Just wanted to post an entry saying that it's November. I'm thinking about the holidays because there is a lot of focus on that at work right now. It's our holiday season, so we're going to be fairly busy from now until the end of the year.
The Nintendo Wii is coming out on November 19, and I'm planning to get one in mid-December. It's a new video game system that uses wireless motion-sensing controllers to give you a new way to play video games. It looks pretty fun. Coincidentally, that's pretty close to Christmas and I shall be in need of a game to play on the system. Whatever shall I do?
Because of my position at work and some plans I have post-Dec. 31, I may not be traveling to Greenville for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. I'll be there at some point to exchange gifts, but it might not be on the actual holiday.
