Christmas is usually a special time for any family, and that is true for my family, as well. The essentials for Christmas were all there; crumbs from cookies left out for Santa...freshly fallen snow...egg nog...smiles...a tree...presents.

Oops. Wait. I got carried away. We forgot to leave out cookies for Santa. It was too warm for snow. No one in our family likes egg nog. We DID have smiles...we DID have a tree...and we DID have presents.

So all is not lost, because Christmas is all about presents, right?

Oh yeah, and I have a disclaimer. Before you go any further, please know that this contains pictures of various members of my family before we've had a chance to look our very best. If you want to save my family members embarrassment, PLEASE don't go any further.

Unless, of course, you WANT to laugh at me and my family, you mean, heartless person!

Christmas morning used to consist of waking up about 5am and waiting for my parents to let us get out of bed to go open our gifts.

Now, the excitement has died down a bit. Christmas morning usually begins with my mother having to wake us up. Instead of bounding out of bed, we walk slowly into the living room where our Christmas presents wait for us under the tree.

Over the next 40+ pages, you will take a journey with me into the past and we'll take a look at how my Christmas happened.
