Database used by Joomla was created by Kimball Cummings
In my beginning-level, I am still trying to understand into which database Joomla places content. Someone on the Joomla forum said it puts it into the database that I created when setting-up Joomla. Okay, well, I remember naming a database in the set-up. but where is it seen in the back-end?
I see six databases listed in http://localhost/phpmyadmin/. Is the database there?
More experienced users can see my apparent confusion. It is one thing to know a system very well. It is another thing to be bewildered when walking into a room for the first time and making assumptions about all the sub-rooms.

Hi Kimball, Welcome to the forum!
You can tell what DB your Joomla install is using by looking in the configuration.php in the root folder your your install.
If you see a lot of other DBs in phpmyadmin those are probably from other installs you have worked on earlier.
